Snowed In: No School Or Work

Thanks, February, for this last-minute dump of snow.  And here I thought we were going to make it to Spring without dealing with this mess.  One thing is for sure, cold days with my guys isn't so bad.  Playing in the snow, having some time off together, snuggling, watching movies, and drinking hot chocolate (or hot tea for me) is really quite fun and cozy at the same time.  My husband hardly ever gets a snow day off from work, but somehow he managed to get two in a row.  TWO!  That never happens.  We're making the best of a bad situation and having a blast.  As soon as Liam spotted the snow, he begged and begged and begged to go outside.  Forty layers of clothing later we were ready to go out.

Liam was covered from head to toe.  He didn't just play in the snow, he swam in it.

A Glimpse Of Spring

Warm weather, pfffftttt.  Well, more like decent weather, not exactly warm.  I knew it wouldn't last long.  We had a good couple of days of what I like to call a teaser.  But, trust me, we took full advantage of it.  The boys did some stuff inside one night, such as making a fort and playing ping pong.  I even took a picture of Landon cleaning to show his future wife.  I gotta' document all the embarrassing stuff, too.  This way when he says he can't clean or doesn't clean, I got proof.  Bad mom, I know.  It will pay off someday, I'm sure.  The next day we went to park to throw a frisbee and get ready for baseball season.  A little pre-season warm-up never hurt anyone.  It was a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be.  We made Liam run to the tree and back to wear him out.  Best. Plan. Ever.

"Hi, mom!"

Earning his keep: tubs and toilets.  Ooooh, fun.

Landon ran all the way to the tree and back.

Everyone was pooped.

This is one of Liam's new Christmas gifts.  As you can see by the decor, it was still christmastime.  I guess you can say we've had a lot going on here at the House Of Z and I didn't get around to posting these.  Liam loves sand.  We found this out very quickly when we poured sand in the boys' sandbox years ago and then hit the beach for our first family vacation.  He is in awe of the sand.  It is a funny texture for someone in Liam's shoes, but there are a few textures that he is fascinated with and sand is one of them.  Thanks to his cousin, he is beyond thrilled to have something he can dig his hands into.  She was even smart and included a rubbermaid container to keep the sand in for safe keeping.

When he decided he was finished with the sand, out came the Play-Doh.  He loves this, too.  They play with Play-Doh a lot in class, making letters, numbers, and other cool stuff, so it didn't shock me that he wanted it for Christmas.  He has been having such a ball with all of his gifts!  Anything that will keep this busy guy occupied is number one in my book.
