Things Toddlers Don't Understand

When I go to Landon's baseball practices or games, all Liam can think about is play time.  He wants to run, jump, visit the nearest park, play with drains and rocks, and my personal favorite, frolic in the streets.  He just doesn't get that we're there for a reason, and a very good one.  He doesn't understand that his Bubby is playing baseball and we need to watch and support him.  Liam is in his own little world.  So, what do I do?  I take him to the park where he gets to work off some of his energy that I so desperately wish I had!  It's not about negotiations with toddlers.  It's pretty black and white and all about fulfilling their every need.  If I didn't adhere to his demands there would definitely be hell to pay.  We went back and forth between the park and watching Landon so it worked out in the end.

These are SOOC.  I didn't feel like touching them up.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I swear, these little simple shoots always turn into something more than I expect.  Truthfully, I just want to get a picture of them together and maybe one of each.  I'm always hearing, "mom, take another one", or they'll do something cute and I keep snapping.  *sigh*  It never fails, I want a couple and end up with way more than I need.  But they're cute, and posing made them happy, so I can't complain too much.  This is what they allowed me to capture.

The Laundry Boy

I guess in most women's minds this would mean that I now have a sexy, foreign, muscly laundry dude doing my laundry for me, like a pool boy for some.  Nope.  This guy is short, American, farts, burps, and eats a lot.  But instead of actually doing the laundry, he became the laundry.  I not only caught the mystery laundry man in the washer and dryer, he was, I kid you not, pretending he was swishing the clothes around.  Reminded me of the Maytag commercials.  Lucky for him there wasn't anything in them or we would have had a big mess, and he would have been fired. :)

Let's Play Ball

We seem to be on the right path with baseball.  Landon loves it, but more importantly, he absolutely loves his team this year.  He is playing his last year in the minors, and this time he's playing for the Cincinnati Reds - a new coach and a brand new team.  Meaning, nobody he knows from previous years.  He's the clown of the group and also the tallest kid on his team.  He told the coach that he wants to play catcher.  When he joined the Instructional League last Fall, he found a knack for it.  Be still my heart.  My little one is strangely following in my footsteps instead of his dad's.  Gotta' love that!

When A Toddler Performs

Liam likes to spend time in his room on occasion, but not really alone.  He wants you to sit and watch him play.  Sounds like a blast, huh?  I usually join in, one way or the other.  This time Liam begged me to get my camera, because apparently he had a show to put on and I didn't know it.  "The Magic Of Houdini"?  Or perhaps, "Liam the Flying Squirrel"?  He cracks us up.  Nowadays he wants to do everything.  Open and close doors, turn on the vacuum, carry things, adjust the volume on the TVs, move items around the house, put trash in the garbage, eeeeeeeverything.  He is so happy knowing that I am in the room with him.  He loves to show off and laugh and say things like "Liam funny" while he flashes you that huge gummy smile.  He is communicating much better now.  I love his little personality, too.  He will sometimes approach you and say, "How ya doin'"?  It makes us melt.
