Bye Bye Summer

When August ends, that's the end of summer for me, and maybe even for others.  We may get a little bit more of the warm weather, but it's just not the same when we hit a fall month like September.  Summer is gone.  I am looking forward to cooler weather now.  The kids have had a great summer playing outside and doing fun things as a family.  We're ready.  The kids were able to run free and play some sports with Dad before August comes to a close.  I love sitting back and watching them.  They love and idolize their Dad so much, and each other.  Liam is repeating everything and following Landon around like a little puppy dog.  I love it (not sure about Landon).

Liam sneaking off to poop in his pull-up.  *sigh*  Potty-training is NOT going well, even at the age of four.  When I realized that Liam is delayed in a few areas (some more severe than others), I didn't expect this milestone to be one of our issues.  Boy was I wrong.

Cooperation At Its Finest

I never get a "great" photo of my kids when I want.  Every now and then they will grace me with a cute smile, or at the very least, a tiny smirk.  It's heavenly when this happens, but even more so when I get a full-on twenty-something pictures that I can be proud of.  For the most part, I let my kids be themselves.  Smiles or no smiles.  Cries or no cries.  This is how they need to be remembered when I take a look back years later.  It's part of who they are, and where they were at these stages in life.  So, I try not to push them too much.  And, being the spawn of a photographer, they are pretty much burned out.  They hear the click of the shutter and they run.  But, darn it, I do love a good impromptu shoot with my kiddos every once in awhile.  Well, it happened.  I couldn't be happier.  In fact, these just may be wall worthy (if I can ever get around to printing them).  My husband is still scratching his head trying to figure out how I ge t them to cooperate long enough to capture these adorable moments.  Let's just say it's a lot of luck, with a little sweat thrown in.

This pose was Landon's idea.  He must have been born in the 80's wanting to do the infamous, cheesy "back-to-back".  Believe it or not, people actually like this pose.  Simple, maybe?

Mom, Can You....?

Homework is finished and chores are complete.  Now what?  My goofy kid is at it again, that's what.  I can never get tired of Landon's wacky sense of humor and silly faces.  Every now and then he will impress me with his desire to pose for the camera.  It typically starts with, "Mom, check this out", or "Mom, can you take a picture of this"?  But, they're not like any "normal" photograph that may come to mind, no sir.  They usually include photo bombing style poses.  Lately, he has been putting his butt in front of the camera.  Yeah, like I'm going to take a picture of THAT?  Crazy kid.  I have to draw the line somewhere.  Sometimes, I'll get lucky and the poses won't be as bad - pretty subtle, really.

My camera was in the shop being worked on for over two months.  I was excited about getting it back in my hands, so I snapped a few pictures to test it.  I missed my baby terribly.  Landon just happened to be the wild, fast-moving subject this time.  They turned out to be some pretty cute photos!

I promise my kid's teeth aren't yellow, just lighting and shadowing.
