Riding Buddies

Last year we ordered a big wheel through Aaron's work thinking that Liam would love to have something bigger to ride outside.  Little did we know Liam was too short, even at its highest setting, to reach the pedals.  Plus, we didn't know that our little dude would be super uncoordinated when it came to ride-on toys.  Now he is finally getting the hang of it, feet on the pedals and all.  However, when he saw Landon riding his bike up and down the sidewalk, he quickly hopped off to chase and help guide him along the way.  Like Landon really needed the help, right?  It was cute to watch, and Liam thought he was doing his duty as a big boy by offering.  And, Landon loved every minute of it.  I think he is happier now that Liam is older and able to do "older" activities with him.  That is one of the bad things about having a gap in age - playing the waiting game.  I will say this, Liam was dying to get on that big bike. He watched Landon's every move like a hawk.  He even went as far a fussing at me when I told him he wasn't going to ride it.  One thing at a time, little man.  One thing at a time.  Your time will come, I promise.  Until then, you rock that big wheel and show 'em how it's done.  Mmmkay?

Landon pretended to run into Liam which made Liam chuckle.  Boys and their silly ways.

Wait for me!

Isn't it crazy how kids notice the smallest things?  It was obvious to him that the Christmas light cord didn't belong in the driveway.  He was confused and half tempted to move it.

Project 365 {2012}: Week Forty-Six in Review

November 17th:  Liam has been trying to escape to the wild outdoors.  He will stand at the door and sign "out" until someone caves and opens the door.  He's hard to resist, let me tell ya.

November 18th:  I don't know what got into me, but I found myself playing around with my chalk board and Santa socks.  Pretty goofy actually.

November 19th:  Liam brought home a handmade turkey before Fall break.  I thought it was pretty cute.

November 20th:  Liam made yet another Fall goody.  I love hand turkeys, they're the best!

November 21st:  On the first day of Fall break Liam thought he would dress as an Indian and give thanks for his favorite food - hot dogs.

November 22nd:  For Thanksgiving we went out to my sister's house for a small get-together.  Toward the end of the day my other sister captured some fun moments of us in the yard.  I LOVE this photo!!

November 23rd:  Typically tradition is to dig out the Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving.  We had ours up in no time at all.  I took a picture of Aaron's Elvis ornament with the tree lit in the background for fun.  Poor Elvis was hanging out waiting to dry before we put him back on the tree.  His arm broke and had to be glued.  Not sure how it happened.

A Pre Thanks-Giving

Liam hasn't been the big eater in our home.  In fact, for the longest time, he wouldn't eat much at all or drink from a sippy cup, straw, or anything except a bottle.  Things have drastically changed over the last six months.  He loves drinking my Diet Green Tea from the 20 oz. bottle and on occasion will drink from his sippy cup and so on.  Now, he is eating four or five hot dogs in one sitting.  Crazy kid.  And, have I mentioned that Liam is up to five words?  I know that most parents probably wouldn't think that's a lot for a three-year-old, considering he should be speaking in full sentences by this time.  But, we are jumping for joy that he is coming along, no matter how slow.  So, for this Thanksgiving I am thankful for progress.  What is Liam thankful for?  Two words:  Eckridge and Fischer.

The Indian get up was just a bonus.

I do love these little hand turkeys.

I'll be posting more soon, but until then, Happy Thanksgiving!

November 10th:  A family photo shoot with the Duncans.

November 11th:  I love this picture of Erin and Kennedy.  They are so great together.

November 12th:  Liam has never been a ride-on toy kinda' kid until recently.  He's just now getting around to riding his big wheel that he has had for quite a awhile now.  Of course, he's not exactly riding it in this picture, but it works.

November 13th:  Apparently Landon is an entrepreneur and didn't know it.  I love the illustrations.

November 14th:  I was playing around with some gadgets and this was the end result.  There's nothing better than a selfie when you're hardly ever in pictures.  Facebook profile picture for the holiday?  Why, yes!

November 15th:  Landon has been pretty independent around the house.  Here he is attempting to make himself a salad.

November 16th:  This Mama got some goodies for the boys, and then herself.  I've been wanting boots for awhile since Peyton chewed my other ones.  I figured it was time to treat myself to something, and I cannot pass up a good deal when it hits me in the face.

Project 365 {2012}: Week Fourty-Four in Review

November 3rd

November 3rd:  We went to Madison for a re-match game between the Cowboys and Masdison JV teams.  We beat them the first time so they wanted another shot at us on their own turf.

November 4th

November 4th:  Aaron and I have been working on the house around the clock to get drawers, cabinets, closets, and so on organized and cleaned out.  We still have more to do.  This pile is basically stuff that either we will donate or put in a yard sale.  I can't believe how out-of-date some of this stuff is!

November 5th

November 5th:  My photo shoot with Alicia and her family.  They were such a fun bunch of people.

November 6th

November 6th:  The kids were home from school on Election Day.  It was a movie kinda' day.  Landon had made himself comfy on the living room floor while he watched a flick.

November 7th

November 7th:  Landon had to be picked up from school because he had a temperature late in the day.  He looks real sick in this picture, huh?   This was snapped after the meds kicked in.  Once they wore off he was back to his lethargic self.  Poor guy.

November 8th

November 8th:  Before I packed Liam into the car for school (Landon had to stay home because he was still sick), I caught Liam looking out the front door.  I loved how the natural light hit his face.

November 9th

November 9th:  Liam brought home Fall/Thanksgiving art work.  He could care less, but I loved it!

Football Madness

Be prepared.  There are a lot of pictures taken during the season.  Back in July of this year we signed Landon up for JV football.  He went through the draft and ended up playing for the Cowboys, which was coached by Aaron's old boss.  I think Jeff traded him for another kid so Landon could be on his team.  I couldn't have been happier.  During the workout training and camp the weather was miserably hot.  The kids were dying in the heat, as well as the parents patiently waiting on the sidelines for the kiddos to finish up.  We agreed on football only because Aaron used to play when he was younger.  And, I guess football seemed exciting at that time.  We didn't realize that it would go on as long as it did.  Phew!  It's been a long three-ish months in the heat, the rain, heavy winds, and bitter cold weather, but we all managed to make it through.  When the season came to an end recently, I was a little sad.  I knew that Landon would probably never see these kids again, providing that he didn't play sports for the same organization in the years ahead.  I do know that some of the kids go to his school, which is nice.  In the end, we were ready for it to be over. Three practices a week (six hours total) and games every weekend, plus photo sessions was a bit exhausting.  I know Landon was worn out, too.  We had fun while it lasted.  Now we just wait to see what he plays next, if anything.
