Project 365 {2012}: Week Thirty-Nine in Review

I didn't have a lot going on this week, but if I did, I didn't take my camera with me (e.g. lunch with my sister).  So, I did what any other person would do with photography block - snap the most random things (most of which were nature shots).

September 22nd

September 22nd:  I had a family photo shoot with a girl I went to high school with.  I love reconnecting with old friends.

September 23rd

September 23rd:  Some of you may already recognize the little girl in this picture.  Yes, it's Kylie (the one I babysat over the summer).  She's back!  Only this time for a different reason - Mom wanted pictures taken of her and her baby girl.

September 24th

September 24th:  A neighbor friend brought over a pot of mums.  Since it was just one pot, and not having a clue where to put only one pot, I split the pot and planted two in our landscaping.  If they survive, I will be shocked.  My sisters and I also went to breakfast and did some thrifting before I had to pick up Liam from school.  Good times.

September 25th

September 25th:  I have been going on walks lately, some with the camera and some without.  Sometimes I'll find something, sometimes I won't.  I was going to take my camera with me when my best friend and I met up and walked in the rain, but I didn't want to take my chances with my equipment.

September 26th

September 26th:  Another walk around the neighborhood.  My neighbor (that I mentioned earlier) has planted a bunch of mums around her yard.  Since they are from Vermont, they decided to put up a fence to make it feel more like home.  I forgot what they called it.

September 27th

September 27th:  We had a crazy storm roll in on Wednesday.  I have never seen so much lightning and such.  When I woke up on Thursday, there were big tree trunks and branches everywhere.

September 28th

September 28th:  Nothing special.  But, I did manage to go to lunch with my sister, my nieces, and nephew on this day.  It was nice to catch up.

Project 365 {2012}: Week Thirty-Eight in Review

September 15th

September 15th:  Alayna was one of the cutest six month olds I had the pleasure of working with.  I loved the pumpkin dress and striped leggings, too!

September 16th

September 16th:  Collin is a spunky two-year-old that I loved hanging out with.  He always makes me smile.  I can't get over how big he has gotten!

September 17th

September 17th:  Liam had a little accident at school.  The teacher said she tripped over him causing him to fall and hit his little cheek on one of the cubbies.  You may not be able to tell in this picture, but it's his left (our right).  See the little bruise?  I figured this boo boo wouldn't be the first or the last.

September 18th

September 18th:  Liam has been packing this turtle toy around with him everywhere lately.  Last night he placed the turtle on his pillow beside him.  So sweet.

September 19th

September 19th:  Liam has also been pretty sneaky lately.  I don't know how he finds these things, or better yet, how he gets them, but he does!  The strange thing is he has never been the hand to mouth or mouth to object kinda' kid until now.  Very strange.

September 20th

September 20th:  Before school I caught Liam playing with a hanger he had found on the floor.  He has always loved hangers.  Not sure why.  Is his secret name Sybil, perhaps?  Just kidding.
September 21st

September 21st: I went for a walk in the morning and I saw pretty fall colored leaves.  I can't wait for more foliage!

Project 365 {2012}: Week Thirty-Seven in Review

September 8th

September 8th:  I was outside enjoying the nice weather on my front porch when I looked over and saw how beautiful the sun was hitting our neighbor's tree.  I love Fall.

September 9th

September 9th:  Landon had a football game against the Jr. Pirates.  This game was special.  It brought back a lot of great memories for Aaron because this is the field he used to play football on when he was in high school.  It gave me the warm fuzzies knowing his son was on the same field.

September 10th

September 10th:  I realized that the boys hadn't been out of the house much lately so we took a few minutes out to get some fresh air.  The boys had a blast!  And, Liam even climbed the rock wall by himself.  Sweet!

September 11th

September 11th:  I picked my lens up from the shop that had been there a few months.  One of our bridges was under construction, making traveling to and from KY a bear.  So, I just waited for the work to be finished and then ventured over.  I missed my lens like crazy, for many reasons - one being this macro shot.  I took several over the course of the week because I love shooting macro.

September 12th

September 12th:  This shot was taken playing with manual focusing.  I kinda' like having control over my lens.  In fact, I think it's much sharper.

September 13th

September 13th:  I did the same thing here with my neighbor's dog, Pizmo.  I just may want to try out a manual lens one day (no AF) for portraits.  Fun!

September 14th

September 14th:  Another macro shot.  I was bored and waiting to pick up my son from school.  TGIF!

Youth Night

We went to Jeff High so that the little guys could walk the field in their jerseys, meet the high school football team, and get a feel for what a real football field feels like.  Landon was so cute out there.  They were able to run out of Jeff High's signature football helmet before the game.  They also lined up to high-five the guys as they were coming out right before the game began.  I loved the Superman theme song they played to get the crowd pumped.  But, I don't think they needed a song to do it.  They were all about team spirit and supporting their school.  When I was in high school, I don't remember ever being as fired up as they were.  It was nice to see, and definitely made taking photographs much more interesting.  Landon (and Liam) had a great time!

First, we had to wait for the team to enter the field.  In the meantime, Liam was happy keeping himself busy playing with rocks in the corner and watching the kids run around.

The guys ran over to meet our kids.  I love how involved they were, even being as young as they were themselves.  Most teens could care less.  I think it was an ego boost from both ends.

Happy Birthday, Herculiam!

I'll admit, I love party-planning.  But, let me just say, it wears me completely out.  His birthday was August 12th, I just seem to be behind all the time.  I decided to do the firefighter theme this year for his party because he is our little hero.  He has come so far and conquered so many obstacles while maintaining that cute, dimply smile and care-free attitude.  He really is someone to look up to.  Nothing has ever bothered him during this process and he's still going strong as the big three-year-old boy he is today.  With encouragement, positivity, and support from loved ones, he'll go far.

Liam had the time of his life.  This birthday was all about opening ripping through the presents and enjoying cake and ice cream.  Last year, he had a thing with cold foods and wouldn't touch the ice cream.  He had a great time hanging out with his friends and family.  I can't wait to see how much he changes from this birthday to the next.

I love his "Engine Co. No. 3" shirt.  It was perfect for the event.   He is also still obsessed with balloons.  It was a challenge to keep him from climbing to get them off the table.  I finally caved and let him have one.

Showing us his cuteness.

And, his goodies.

Reading cards with Dad.

Giving kisses to all of his guests.  He gets that from me. Ha!  He even kissed tables and chairs.  Liam's never been big into leaving anyone or anything out.

Oh, there I am!

And, of course, the infamous all boy pictures.  I must say, much better than usual.

A little "me" time for birthday boy.

I look forward to watching you grow even more, baby boy!
