Project 365 {2012}: Week Eight in Review

February 18th

February 18th:  I received this bumper sticker in the mail.  I think it pretty much sums me up.

February 19th

February 19th:  I managed to get a close up shot of Liam while we were hanging out outside.  I love his eyes.

February 20th

February 20th:  Liam reunited with his swing.  I was surprised he still fit with the bulk of the brace.  He loved it!

February 21st

February 21st:  Liam had ST.  His ST was overjoyed that he was signing 18 words in such a short amount of time.  The boy is super smart!

February 22nd

February 22nd:  I was outside doing something (I can't remember) and I saw these birds fly off of the tree branches.  You know me...SNAP!

February 23rd

Feburary 23rd:  This was Landon's first time on a school bus...ever.  He was SO excited.  However, now I know why I've chosen to take and pick him up from school.  He told me the buses still don't have seat belts and the older kids cuss and say hurt words.  Awesome.  I don't see Landon riding the bus anytime soon.

February 24th

February 24th:  Liam had his OT session -- complete with sprays, snacks, and some fun oral tools.

It's That Time Again

Swinging is always a big thing at our house.  Of course, Liam had to take a long break from one of the things he loved to do the most because of restrictions due to having a body cast.  And lately, it's just been too plain cold to take the boys out for any kind of real extended fun.  The wind had picked up that day and afraid that it might still be a little too cold.  The last thing I needed was sick kids.  When we got out there it actually felt nice for a change.  Still windy, but it didn't stop my little monsters.

A New Kind of Processing...For Me

I don't know what kind of weather you're having, but it's kinda' nice to be having a mild winter.  I think we were around 65 degrees here today.  And, supposedly, it's going to get nicer.  We'll see.  Being in the Ohio Valley, the weather can change overnight.

I processed these with new actions I found and thought I would try them out on the pictures I took of Liam.  I'm not sure if I like them or not.  It could be that my editing is typically pretty traditional and simple (for the most part).  These are little blue-ish, gold-ish, green-ish and maybe a little pink-ish for my usual taste.  You'll see what I mean once you scroll through them.

Trying new edits.  Not sure which one I like...if any.

I took a picture of Liam's feet because Monday he had cookies placed in his shoes.  They seem to be helping.

Lovable, Snuggable, Stuffed Animal Infested Kinda' Good Time

Yesterday, Landon came up to me and expressed to me that he was bored out of his little mind.  His homework was complete, he had a snack, he was tired of PS and he wanted to do something exciting.  Of course, the first thing that came to mind is baseball or maybe football.  It was freezing outside and thought I could persuade him to pick something involving the indoors; such as a simple, quiet game.  Nope.  He wanted to pull the couch cushions off the couch, grab some wooden planks, stuffed animals and his brother for a mini photo shoot.  He's definitely my kid, no doubt.  And, quite the "take charge" kinda' kid I never knew he was.  When you're little ones share in the same joy and passion as you do, you can't help but jump at every opportunity to take full advantage of those moments.  So I did.  Quickly.  Mostly it's, "Not again!", or some version of trying to avoid me (hiding faces, photo bombing, running away, etc.).  It was fun.  But, boy is Liam a challenge.  One day I'll get him in pose mode, and maybe one day he'll be as eager to make his Mama happy like his big bro.  Men are still trainable these days, right?  Just checkin'.

Project 365 {2012}: Week Seven in Review

February 11th

February 11th:  I photographed a 1st birthday party for a client.  This is a pre-party shot of preparing food.  For their privacy, the parents/immediate family or the birthday boy himself was not publicized.

February 12th

February 12th:  Liam's 2.5 year (30 month) photo.  This was the last monthly photo until his third birthday - little bittersweet.

February 13th

February 13th:  Out of the blue Mother Nature decided we need a little more snow.  It didn't last long and melted fairly quickly.

February 14th

February 14th:  Landon had his Valentine's Day party at school.  There's nothing sweeter than getting a cute little valentine from all your pretty girlfriends (and from your BFFs).

February 15th

February 15th:  Trying out a new background.  CS is a wonderful thing.

February 16th

February 16th:  Liam practicing his somersaults.  Hey, who needs gymnastics when you got the best trainer/coach in the state?!  Now he rolls all over the place.

February 17th

February 17th:  Liam opened wide for a bite of yumminess for his OT.  Mama's little baby bird.

Happy Heart Day

Our two boys are nothing short of affectionate.  There is always a hug or kiss lurking around every corner in our home - even a wink or two from our eight-year-old flirt.  So, with that being said, Landon (and Liam) are telling me that we should hug extra tight and kiss everyone as much as possible today.

We hope everyone has a nice time with their special someones!

Project 365 {2012}: Week Six in Review

February 4th

February 4th:  I caught Liam playing with his Doodle Pro, practicing his fabulous drawing skills.

February 5th

February 5th:  I stepped outside to find the sun shining from a perfect spot.  My neightbor's lamp post was my victim of the day.

February 6th

February 6th:  Yet another gorgeous winter day.  This is what happens when I go out to check my mail.  I find a lot of victims to photograph.

February 7th

Fabruary 7th:  I couldn't decide which photo I wanted to use for this day so I included them both as one.  This is Liam with his DT and ST, both pretty cute photos.  One is of Mary and Liam having a loving moment and the other is of Liam working on his sign language skills.  He signed "please" for the first time.  Score!

February 8th

February 8th:  Strangely, I woke up to a sheet of snow on the ground.  I thought my living room looked extra bright that morning, so naturally, I went to my window to see what the light was from.  And there it was.  So much for a tame winter, but still not bad.

February 9th

February 9th:  Liam's old PT came back to help him with therapy.  Their reunion was amazing.  He was thrilled to see her again, as was she.

February 10th

February 10th:  During OT, Liam thought that anything on a stick-like object was food....bubbles included. Yum!

Liam Turns 2.5 Years Today!

With everything that has been going on with Liam over the course of the last 30 months, I feel that it's slowed him down on what could have been a disaster at this age.  He could be telling me "no" all the time, throwing major fits, screaming, running amok, and showing us his 2.5 year old attitude.  I guess we've gotten lucky in a sense.  With him being in a cast, a brace, and having speech issues we haven't had the luxury of experiencing this type of toddler behavior.  Every once in a while Liam will flip over onto his belly to avoid getting his diaper changed or try to walk away when I am trying to change his clothes.  It's a game to him really, not so much a "break down".  This is what I get for having a Playful Pete on my hands.  Liam will also voice that he's all done with a little squeal, but nothing to pull your hair out over.  He's an angel compared to some of the other toddlers I've seen, so I can't complain.  My Mom always used to say, "It can always be worse", which is very true.  And, I think that is how I have been getting through these last 2.5 years of ups and downs (mainly downs).  He makes me smile at least 30 million times a day.  He makes my heart melt twice as much.  I'm really looking forward to these next six months, as we creep into the threes, to see how much more he will knock our socks off.

On a side note:  Photographs are getting a little easier.  Phew!  I didn't think I would ever see the day, but our tot is still young, right?

In the spirit of Heart Day approaching, I thought some hearts might work nicely this time.  Cutie Pie?  You betcha'.  Also, this will be the last photo until he turns three - a little bittersweet.  It's been nice knowin' ya Mr. Monthly Man.  You're growing too fast!
