a post birthday visit

Aaron's parents came over to drop some things off for Aaron's birthday. We played a game of Farkle and hung out for a bit. The boys were pooped! After Mamaw and Papaw left, the boys passed out. Landon actually got a head start on Liam and crashed at the dining room table. Silly kid.  When things were quiet and the boys were sound asleep, Aaron and I went outside to have some picture fun! I finally got around to doing something that I've been wanting to do for awhile. You'll have to let me know what you think!

a few birthday wishes

My husband, Aaron, turns 39 today!  Aaron is a very go-with-the-flow kinda' guy, he doesn't ask for much at all.  He truly enjoys his family and loves working to provide for us.  Okay, well, maybe doesn't LOVE working, but you get the point.  Unfortunately, since his birthday falls on a weekday, he had to work as usual.  So, before heading off I snapped a photo of him to use later for my 365 project.  But for now, I present to you this version that I cloned a little and added a few of his thoughts, 'cause you know that's exactly what he's thinking.  And, to be honest, can't we all use these things, too?

He's such a good sport!

Captivus is having a photo challenge, "Spherize".  I thought this was a little different than any other photo challenge that I have joined, so I gave it a shot!  While I was spherizing my kid's head, I found myself playing with other CS goodies.  I think I had fun...maybe too much fun, eh?

This first photo is my entry for the challenge.  My my, what a big head ya got there, Landon.

I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself.

paper heart camera show and tell: doorways

Meet my Great Neice, Olivia.  A very curious Great Neice I might add.  This photograph was taken at the George Roger's Clark Cabin here in town.  My oldest Sister, Denise, wanted pictures of her Grandbabies (yes, there are two, and yes, I said Grandbabies) before they moved to Korea this past Summer.  My Neice and her husband were to be stationed there for three years.  Grandma Deanie was sad, but she was very pleased with the memories I captured for her.  To be honest, I don't have too many doorway shots, but this one went off like a light bulb.  *ding*  (did you get the visual?)  I had to use it!

just a note...repost

I am passing this along (in my own words) from a fellow blogger Forever and Always Photography.  If you want to see what she had to say, just click the link.  She has screen shots to display for a more visual effect.  She's cool like that.  I, however, am not.  *wink*

I have noticed since I have been in the bloggin' world that "word verification" is frustrating and sometimes time consuming.  Time consuming?  Yes.  Those jumbled words/letters are sometimes difficult to read and I sometimes find myself spending a few extra minutes on just one.  I leave a lot of comments a day, so this can add up to be a good part of my day.  I love leaving comments on other blogger's blogs.  I can't express that enough.  And, I still do regardless of how they have it set up.  If I like something I see or read, I comment.  True story.  The truth is, some bloggers don't know anything about it.  They are completely unaware that they have it turned on.  And, while you're at it, turn your e-mail on, too!  Come to find out, it's easier for someone to comment on your posts or find out who you are if your e-mail is accessible.  It's not shown directly on your blog unless you type it on the blog itself.  It just opens up a new avenue for your blogging experience, and it's easier for people (and less annoying) for people who simply like having that option more.

Instructions for Word Verification:

1. Click on settings

2. Click on comments

3. Settings for comments

4. Then scroll down to where you see "show word verification" and select "no".

5.  Save your changes.

And you're done!

Instructions for E-mail:

1.  Go to your Dashboard

2.  Edit profile

3. Check "show my e-mail address"

4. Be sure you have your e-mail listed under "e-mail"

5.  Save profile

And you're done!

How it works? This is what I see if you do not have your e-mail set up on your blog "noreply-comment@blogger.com" when instead I should be seeing "abc123@bellsouth.com". I cannot reply to the noreply e-mail because it doesn't exist. I can simply hit the reply button and respond through my personal e-mail. So much easier for all of us bloggers. Definitely faster.

Instructions for having comments e-mailed directly to you:

1. Click on settings

2. Click on comments

3. Settings for comments

4.  Scroll down as you did before, but this time you will type in your e-mail address in the box.

5. Save your changes.

And you're done!

Spread the word and please share this button on your blogs!

Grab it by right clicking on it.  Save it and then post it!

innocent wonder

This week's photo challenge at I Heart Faces is "Innocent Wonder". I'm not sure if this picture qualifies since Liam isn't looking directly at the camera. He still has a human face, and if you look closely you can see his nose. Ha! So, I guess he has a face, or at least part of it, showing.  I love everything about this since it screams innocent wonder to me, but if it doesn't qualify, I'm okay with that.  At least I got the opportunity to share it.

the paper mama photo challenge: friends

This photograph was taken at Landon's 7th birthday party back in October.  While everyone else was inside, Landon and Aden took some time out to play Cornhole together.  It was so much fun watching a seven-year-old and a four-year-old try to get the bags in the holes!

yet another

First and foremost, I am frustrated. I'm ready for my child to get an education that we paid for and ready for Mother Nature to stop being so hormonal. Don't get me wrong, I love the snow. We all do. It's so much fun to play in, especially if you have kids. But, it looks as though Landon will be packing goggles, swim trunks, and a kiddie pool to school with him this Summer. I'm hoping that this snow lets up so he can have more of a Summer than last year. Last year, I blinked and he was back in session! So anyway, today was called off, so Landon and I went outside for a little snowball fight. But first, I took pictures of Liam before his nap and before the games began. Tomorrow will be yet another day home with Mom. I guess we'll enjoy some time together while we can and try to build a snowman and possibly make some home made ice cream.  Yum!

A little exercise before nap...

Then, a little cuddle time with the teddy bears.

I hope everyone is enjoying the white mess!
